FAQ

Should I get tested for STDs?
Roughly 19 million people in the U.S. will be infected with a Sexually transmitted Disease this year, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) nearly half of those infections are among young people. Most people don’t know they have an STD because there can be no pain, no itch, no burns, no signs at all. Approximately 50% of all sexually active people will get an STD by the time they are in their mid-20s.

Early detection with accurate screening tests can help prevent others from contracting STDs and allow you to get treatment.

What will appear on my credit card statement?
You will receive credit card billing from “Local Testing Services “. We accept all major credit cards and accept Paypal as payment also.

Why are our services the best?
GetSTDTesting.org uses CLIA-certified clinical laboratories. All of our testing centers are certified at both the federal and state level, approved by the FDA, and able to perform the same standard tests that are offered through your typical hospital or doctor’s office.

We are professional, experienced and care about your health.

Do I need an appointment?
Some tests may require scheduling. Your counselor will be able to inform you if your specific test requires an appointment. The majority of our tests can offer same day or next day testing. Call 1-866-512-9134 to speak with a counselor today to find out more.

What about confidential testing?
Yes we offer and encourage confidential testing. Insurance is usually a large factor for people to not get tested. Maybe you want to protect your privacy and would prefer to keep certain results and testing off of your permanent medical record. Direct laboratory testing allows you to take control of your health and schedule the necessary tests conveniently and confidentially. Direct laboratory testing is simple, private, and convenient.

How long does it take to get my results?
GetSTDTesting.org is remarkably fast and confidential. By sending you to the labs directly, you can expect to receive your results back faster than going to a physician. No appointments are necessary to receive your results. Most results will be back within 24 hours, but some of our more advanced testing may take from one to five business days.

What can I expect at the Patient Service Center?
Your Patient Service Center (PSC) visit will take 20 minutes or less. A counselor will make sure that the PSC is ready for you and processed correctly. Please do not try to visit or contact the PSC without making a call to GetSTDTesting.org first. Every state requires physician review of your request and preparation of a test requisition prior to your visit.

Do we have a laboratory close to your area?
GetSTDTesting.org has medical laboratories in every major city in the United States. Major Cities included in our network: New York, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, San Diego, Dallas, San Antonio, Detroit, San Jose, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Columbus, Austin, Memphis, Baltimore, Milwaukee, Boston, Charlotte, El Paso, Seattle, Fort Worth, Denver, Nashville-Davidson, Portland, and more! If you don’t live in or near a major city we will find a Patient Service Center close to you.

How do our prices compare with a regular doctor visit?
Our high volume services allow us to offer excellent pricing and we pass that savings on to you. You also save money on a doctor’s visit, which on average costs $100 before any std testing. By testing direct you save up to 50% compared to a doctor visit for the same high quality tests.

Are there any special instructions before I get tested?
Yes. If having a urine test performed please do not urinate 1 hour prior to testing.
